I'm using a HTPC that has a Radeon X600 video card. I have installed the most up to date drivers in it from the ATI site and I still have the same problem. My Screen is a Dell Projector 3400mp. When windows is starting up and when it is logging it the screen is normal. When it finishes logging it the screen will dim down very low. My cursor will stay bright and fine but all of windows is very dim in the back ground. The projector is hooked up through the DVI side of the card. If I shutdown windows and hook up a monitor to the VGA side it does fine. Windows runs fine but it is very very dim after windows loads. Any ideas?

Dimmed screen when enter windows
Driver issue I suspect, have you tried using the native drivers that come with Vista? -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Josh" wrote in message

Ok new devolpment.
If I create a new user it will work fine for a few restarts and then it will go back to the dimmed screen after login. The new user profile seems to help it untill something is saved in it and it goes back like the other profiles. Any ideas with this one. Thanks in Advance Josh

I suspect you are seeing a driver issue here, the best recommendation is to report issue to ATI and use feedback tool on your desktop to make a report to Microsoft about issue. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

three different video cards and still same problem. Are you sure on your idea that it is a video card. Also though it might be the system so I reinstalled but installed x64 this time since my system can support x64 still same problem with all three different video cards
